At Our Savior's Lutheran Church & School, we know that people have questions outside of the normal Monday through Friday, Nine-to-Five hours. That's why we have created Our Savior's On-Line. We want to keep our students, our families, and our members well informed about the projects, events, and the day-to-day happenings that bring us together as a community.

At the same time, we are not perfect; so, if you see a mistake, or have a problem viewing a page, please let us know about it. We invite everyone's input to help make our website the most useful it can be for our community.

Below are a few commonly addressed issues that you may have wondered about. If these articles don't address your concerns, please send us an Email to webmaster @ oursaviorsonline.com.

ISSUE: The paragraph text on certain pages sometimes runs together or overlaps other paragraphs.

ANSWER: When we first created the current Our Savior's web site, Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator were the common web browsers in use. Our site was designed in a Netscape 4/IE 5 format. Since that time, a small percentage of web-users have chosen to use other web browsers such as FireFox or Safari. These web browsers [right out of the box] can not read IE content properly, and therefore reformat text fonts in their own default size and style. This reformatting tends to cause the text not to fit in to the areas they were designed for. The result is “run-on” text. While it is our goal to eventually reformat our entire website in pure HTML, this will not solve the run-on text issue for those experiencing it today.

To remedy this issue in FireFox, Mozilla has offered an Add-On called IE View to allow FireFox to read IE content. You can download this Add-On at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/35. There is also a Mac OS X version called Safari View at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4641.

ISSUE: Email links on this website no longer work.

ANSWER: Due to the overwhelming increase in unsolicited [Spam] Email that deluged our staff last year, we have found it necessary to remove all Email related hyperlinks and text from this website. Furthermore, beginning with the commencement of the 2008-2009 school year, all school staff Email addresses have been changed.

To obtain the new Email address of your child's teacher or any other school staff member, please refer to the opening pages of the most current [hard copy] version of our Family Handbook. You may also obtain staff Email addresses directly from a staff member.

By request of the school's IT Director, the school office will not release any staff Email addresses via any means.

We apologize for any added inconvenience this may cause you. It is our hope that this new policy will relieve our teachers from the burden of having to sort through an excess of junk mail so that they can quickly and accurately identify and respond to your legitimate Emails.

We thank you for your understanding and patience, and we look forward to receiving all of your, and only your electronic mail.
